Sesame Street Live “When Elmo Grows Up”
Favorite Friends Plan Their Pageant - and Their Future -in Cincinnati from April 23 – 26

Highland Heights, KY - Introducing Abby Cadabby! The newest Muppet on Sesame Street joins Elmo, Zoe, Rosita and all of her furry and feathered friends in asking, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ as they prepare for a pageant on Sesame Street. Get ready to sing cowboy songs, ride the rails and more when Sesame Street Live “When Elmo Grows Up” performs at The Bank of Kentucky Center from Thursday, April 23 through Sunday, April 26. Tickets for all seven performances go on sale Monday, March 2 at 10 a.m.

When Elmo and his Sesame Street Live friends think about growing up, it’s a musical show-and-tell!  Bert dreams of becoming a forest ranger, Telly longs to be a cowboy and their newest friend, Abby Cadabby, wants to be a Fairy Godmother just like her mommy.  Elmo thinks about becoming a ‘weather monster,’ but has a hard time predicting his own forecast—he wants to be anything and everything all at once!  “When Elmo Grows Up” includes lessons on perseverance, teamwork and the power of imagination.  Children learn that if they believe in themselves and are willing to try, the possibilities are endless.

Like television’s Sesame Street, each Sesame Street Live production features timeless lessons for all ages. Through the razzle-dazzle of this musical Broadway-quality musical production, children learn about patience, acceptance and teamwork. The universal appeal of a Sesame Street Live production continues long after preschool. Adults will appreciate the high-tech stagecraft, cleverly written scripts, and music they’ll recognize and enjoy sharing with children, such as “Home on the Range,” “Down on the Corner” and “Give a Little Love.” “When Elmo Grows Up” features nearly two dozen songs, including classics that children will love to sing along with such as “I Love Trash” and “Itsy Bitsy Spider.”

Buckcherry Buckcherry
Dubbed the “Next Great American Rock Band,” has evolved from playing in front of 200 people to sold-out crowds of tens of thousands in just two years. Buckcherry will be touring in support of their latest album, Black Butterfly, which was recently named iTunes Rock Album of the Year. The album produced iTunes choices for the #2 Rock Song of the Year, “Too Drunk…” and the #8 Rock Song of the Year, “Rescue Me,” as well as critically acclaimed songs such as “A Child Called It” and “Don’t Go Away.” The album debuted at #8 on Billboard’s Top 200, giving the band their first Top 10 album debut. Black Butterfly follows the platinum success of 15, and hit songs like “Lit Up,” “Everything,” “Crazy Bitch” and the mainstream crossover smash “Sorry.” Black Butterfly was also recently ranked #1 on Stephen King’s Top 10 albums of 2008 for Entertainment Weekly, stating, “Black Butterfly was the best hard-rock album I heard this year.” The video for “Don’t Go Away” can be seen on VH1.

Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold (or A7X)
the metal core outfit were still attending high school in Huntington Beach, CA, when they formed their band in 1999. Nevertheless, it didn't take long for M. Shadows (vocals), Zacky Vengeance (guitar), Synyster Gates (guitar), the Reverend (drums), and Johnny Christ (bass) to make an impression with their aggressive hybrid of metal and punk-pop. The band made its official debut in July 2001, releasing Sounding the Seventh Trumpet on the Good Life label before moving to the Hopeless roster for 2003's Waking the Fallen. Warner Bros. took interest in the band's aggressive sound and issued its breakthrough release, City of Evil, in June 2005. The album reached number 30 on Billboard's Top 200, propelled in part by the Top Ten success of the single "Bat Country." The accompany music video was heavily rotated on MTV and Fuse, where live appearances also helped boost Avenged's growing profile, and the band ultimately won the Best New Artist Award (though they were hardly newcomers) at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. As demand for their music increased, Avenged Sevenfold canceled their tour dates for fall 2006 and decamped to Houston, TX, where they set to work on a fourth studio album. Boasting a grittier sound than previous releases, the self-titled/self-produced disc appeared in October 2007, debuting at number four on the Billboard Top 200 and spinning off the radio single "Almost Easy." Avenged Sevenfold helped support the release by touring North America on the Taste of Chaos tour. -Christina Fuoco, All Music Guide

Papa Roach
pierced the record industry in 2000 with their triple-platinum major label Grammy Nominated debut album, Infest, on Dreamworks SKG. Two years later Lovehatetragedy debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200. In 2004, the band released the hook-heavy album, Getting Away With Murder, once again affirming the band’s platinum status around the globe. Their fourth major label album was the next step in their evolution with The Paramour Sessions on Geffen Records (2006) receiving five out of five stars from Rolling Stone establishing Papa Roach as a consistent alternative rock force. Numerous Top 10 Billboard singles add to the bands list of accolades including “Last Resort”, “Forever”, “Getting Away With Murder”, “Scars” and “To Be Loved”. Papa Roach is currently completing their fifth album Metamorphosis, which will be released in early 2009.

Saving Abel
was formed in 2004 by vocalist Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null, they combine riff-heavy hard rock with sexually charged lyrics and Southern rock influences. The quintet took root in Corinth, MS, where Weeks and Null cut their teeth in different bands before merging their songwriting talents. In early 2005, the duo's music attracted attention from producer Skidd Mills, who invited Weeks and Null to record in his Memphis studio. Juggling day jobs and regional gigs, the two began driving back and forth between Corinth and Memphis, sporadically recording their self-titled EP with Mills while assembling a full lineup comprised of guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor, and drummer Blake Dixon. Within a year, the EP had earned Saving Abel a contract with Virgin Records, and Mills returned to helm their full-length debut. Combining new material with the EP's best songs, the self-titled album was issued in March 2008. -Andrew Leahey, All Music Guide

Casting Crowns, Headline Multi-Group Christmas Tour

Casting Crowns "Casting Crowns Christmas Celebration" With Special Guests Natalie Grant, Denver & The Mile High Orchestra, Avalon, Michael English and pureNRG

(Nashville, Tenn.) September 11, 2008 – Grammy winning, multi-platinum recording artists Casting Crowns, who sold 450,000 tickets in more than 80 cities during its last outing, will headline the 14-city “Casting Crowns Christmas Celebration” with a full orchestra and choir touring this November and December, performing songs from their first and highly anticipated Christmas Album, Peace On Earth. The tour, billed as Casting Crowns Christmas Celebration, will feature special guest, three-time GMA Dove Award winning Female Vocalist of the Year, Natalie Grant, Denver & The Mile High Orchestra, Avalon, Michael English and new music from Radio Disney favorites, pureNRG. “I want to see people rediscover the worship that Christmas songs have in them,” says Mark Hall, front man and principal songwriter for Casting Crowns. “A lot of times, when we sing carols, we sort of shift into Christmas carol mode— singing songs that we’ve been singing for so long, we might not be hearing what they’re really saying,” explains Hall.

Hall and Casting Crowns hope to point audiences this Christmas season to the deeper meaning of songs sung for generations, many which were written from a place of searching and pure desperation. Peace on Earth’s featured single “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day,” which features a Chattanooga, Tenn.-based boys choir personifying the bells, was originally penned by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The poetic lyrics document how hope emerged from a crisis of faith the writer experienced after he lost his wife in a house fire and soon saw his son crippled in the Civil War. Hall explains, “He wrote about how every year when these Christmas bells ring, it reminds him that there’s peace on earth, good will toward men. The verses change, and suddenly he’s saying, ‘But there is no peace. There’s war, and there’s hate. And this hate mocks the song of the bells.’ He’s working through his understanding of Christmas. And as the bells keep ringing, he just has this moment when he realizes God is not dead, nor does He sleep. Good will prevail. God is going to save the day.” The timelessness of the song’s potent hope-filled message is glaring to Hall—especially in light of today’s world events. “This generation needs to hear this song,” he says. “My kids need to hear this song.” So when the people of God are here, there’s peace, because there’s hope that God can change anyone’s life.”

Casting Crowns Casting Crowns, with lead singer Mark Hall, recently led the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards with seven wins including Group of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, and Song of the Year for its No. 1 hit “East to West.” The group’s third studio recording The Altar and The Door achieved an historical debut at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart with 130,000 first-week copies sold, making it the highest debut in the country that week and the second highest CD seller of any kind in America. The album sailed to RIAA Gold status in 10 weeks. Casting Crowns was the No. 1 top-selling Christian music artist of 2007 and won its first American Music Award in November of 2007.

Lead singer Mark Hall is a full-time youth pastor, serving his 17th year in youth ministry as a student pastor at Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church in Atlanta. All seven band members remain active in student ministry in the Atlanta area and tour part-time around their local church duties.

NKU vs. Louisville Men's Basketball

NKU Basketball HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team should be a battle-tested group by the time Great Lakes Valley Conference play begins. That’s because the Norse begin the season with exhibition games against Louisville and Cincinnati, a pair of Big East Conference programs loaded with talent in 2008-09.

Louisville, in fact, is considered by many as one of the favorites to win the NCAA Division I national championship.

Louisville visits NKU to open The Bank of Kentucky Center on Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. The Cardinals return four starters - seniors Terrence Williams and Andre McGee, and juniors Earl Clark and Jerry Smith -- from a team that posted a 27-9 record and reached the NCAA Elite Eight last season. Louisville also adds high school player of the year Samardo Samuels, a 6-foot-8 forward/center.

“You could not ask for a better atmosphere for the first-ever basketball event in The Bank of Kentucky Center,” NKU head coach Dave Bezold said. “Louisville might be the most talented team in the country. They have a legendary head coach and great fan support. It’s going to be a great evening for the entire community.”

NKU Basketball Louisville competes in the Big East Conference and is coached by Rick Pitino. The Cardinals have never met NKU in men’s basketball.

Three days later, NKU travels across the Ohio River to meet Cincinnati in an exhibition game. It will mark the eighth consecutive year the Norse and Bearcats have played in an exhibition contest.

NKU, which welcomes back two starters from last season’s 21-8 team that captured the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division championship, adds an impressive group of newcomers in 2008-09. Cameron (Okla.) University transfer Leslie Malone will make his NKU debut against Louisville on Nov. 8. Malone, a 6-7 forward, averaged 19.4 points and 10.7 rebounds last season for Cameron. Malone also finished with 58 blocked shots and 53 steals.

Other transfers looking to make an impact for NKU this season are 6-5 A’Daeron Duncan (Coppin State), 6-5 Dustin Maguire (Saint Louis) and 6-7 Tanner Jacobs (Kennesaw State).

NKU tips off the regular season Nov. 15 with a home game against regional rival Ferris State. The Norse play host to the 27th annual John L. Griffin/Lions Club Classic Nov. 21-22.

NKU Basketball NKU plays Olivet Nazarene on Nov. 21, followed by a game against UC-Clermont the next evening. The Norse wrap up their season-opening four-game homestand Nov. 24 with a regional contest against Saginaw Valley State.

NKU hits the road for a two-day tournament in Wingate, N.C., Nov. 29-30. The Norse meet perennial powerhouse Wingate on Nov. 29. Those two programs have met just once, that being an 81-73 Wingate victory on Dec. 18, 2001, at Wingate, N.C.

NKU concludes the tournament on Nov. 30 with a game against Catawba (N.C.).

The Norse open the GLVC schedule Dec. 4 with a road game at Indianapolis, then return home for non-conference contests against Urbana (Dec. 9) and Indiana-East (Dec. 22). NKU finishes its non-conference schedule with a road game at Saginaw Valley State on Dec. 29.

“The two exhibition games and our non-conference schedule will prepare us for the GLVC,” Bezold said, “and you better be prepared, because looking at the talent many of the GLVC schools have brought in, it’s going to be more difficult than ever to win on the road in our league.”

NKU Basketball NKU resumes GLVC Jan. 2 with a rare Friday night game at Bellarmine. Two days later, NKU visits Kentucky Wesleyan for a Sunday afternoon GLVC East Division battle.

The annual NKU Homecoming will take place Feb. 7 in The Bank of Kentucky Center against Indianapolis. The GLVC Tournament is scheduled for March 5-8 at a site to be determined.

The NCAA Division II Tournament begins March 14 and will again feature a 64-team field. The GLVC and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference make up the Midwest Region, which was formerly known as the Great Lakes Region. NKU has earned two straight NCAA Tournament berths.

NKU vs. Louisville Women's Basketball

NKU Basketball HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s basketball team begins defense of its NCAA Division II national championship Nov. 20 when Wayne State (Mich.) visits for the inaugural regular-season game in The Bank of Kentucky Center.

NKU, which captured the NCAA Division II national championship in March at Kearney, Neb., also plays host to Mercyhurst (Pa.) on Nov. 24. The Norse begin defense of their Great Lakes Valley Conference East title on Dec. 4 with a road game at Indianapolis.

Before starting the regular season, NKU will play exhibition games against Cincinnati (Nov. 1) and Louisville (Nov. 8). The Norse’s Nov. 8 contest against Louisville will be played in The Bank of Kentucky Center as part of a men’s/women’s exhibition doubleheader in the first-ever basketball games in NKU’s new facility.

NKU Basketball Louisville finished with a 26-10 record last season and dropped a 78-74 decision to North Carolina in the NCAA Division I Tournament regional semifinals. The Cardinals welcome back All-America forward Angel McCoughtry, who averaged 23.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game last season.

“We start off by playing two exhibition games against Big East schools, and everyone will tell you that’s one of the best conferences in the nation,” NKU head coach Nancy Winstel said. “Our girls really enjoyed going over and playing against UC last season in the exhibition. They beat us last year, and I expect them to be very good this season.”

“Louisville will be ranked in the top 25 nationally in the preseason poll,” Winstel added. “Angel McCoughtry is an All-American for Louisville, and she is going to play in the WNBA one day. She is a great player, and they return a really good team. This is a great way to prepare for the upcoming season. You find out what a team needs to work on by playing exhibition games. As a coach, it’s a chance to see what strengths and weaknesses your team has early in the season.”

NKU plays at Southern Illinois at Edwardsville on Dec. 6 in a non-conference game. SIUE, a former member of the GLVC, reclassified to NCAA Division I status after last season. NKU plays host to the Travel America Classic Dec. 12-13, and the Norse face North Carolina-Pembroke in the first round. NKU meets Carson-Newman in the finale of the two-day event.

Ashland will visit The Bank of Kentucky Center on Dec. 30 to meet NKU in a key regional game. The Eagles are members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and posted a 19-11 record last season. Defending GLVC Tournament champion Drury plays host to NKU on Jan. 17 in Springfield, Mo.

NKU Basketball NKU welcomes back three starters and seven letterwinners in 2008-09. The Norse feature senior post player Cassie Brannen, who averaged 13.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game last season. Brannen also blocked 75 shots and was named the most outstanding player of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Tournament.

Senior guard Jessie Slack also returns to the NKU lineup after averaging 13.3 ppg and knocking down a team-leading 68 shots from 3-point range last season. Slack made 85 percent of her free throws and added 92 assists.

Senior guard Danyelle Echoles (6.9 ppg) made 45 shots from 3-point range last season and is back in 2008-09. Echoles also dished out 79 assists. Senior guard/forward Karen Brackman also returns after averaging 5.1 ppg and finishing with 74 assists last season.

Junior guard Rachel Lantry, sophomore point guard Diondra Holliday and sophomore post player Kendra Caldwell all return and add experience for NKU. The Norse also brought in an impressive recruiting class for 2008-09.

“We lost two great leaders in Angela Healy and Nicole Chiodi, and we are going to have to find a way to replace them,” Winstel said. “I think we have some very good players returning, and they know what it takes to win big games.

"And moving into The Bank of Kentucky Center is going to be a great experience for all of us. When you look up and see the new scoreboards in that building, see the seating and what a beautiful facility it is, you can’t help but get excited about playing in it.”

Walking With Dinosaurs - The Live Experience
Based on the award-winning BBC Television Series comes to the Bank of Kentucky Center for nine performances only October 29 to November 2.

(August 21, Highland Heights) --- Dinosaurs once again roam the earth in a spectacular theatrical arena show, WALKING WITH DINOSAURS – The Live Experience, based on the award-winning BBC Television Series. WALKING WITH DINOSAURS – The Live Experience is now on tour in North America and will perform nine performances at the Bank of Kentucky Center in Highland Heights.

Walking With Dinosaurs Over one and a half million Americans have already seen the production since it opened in July 2007.

The show originated in Australia, where after years of planning, WALKING WITH DINOSAURS came to life at Sydney’s Acer Arena in January 2007. The show proved itself such a sensation, that this North American tour was fast-tracked. It began a short three months after completing its sold out engagements in Australia.

WALKING WITH DINOSAURS – The Live Experience is brought to North America by The Creature Production Company, headed by CEO Carmen Pavlovic. Pavlovic said, “The BBC Series was a brilliant blend of special effects, escapism, excitement and information. Our show brings together all of that, plus something extra - it’s live! In this production, fifteen roaring, snarling “live” dinosaurs mesmerize the audience – and are as awe-inspiring as when they first walked on earth.”

Pavlovic continued, “The dinosaurs are life-size, making the show so immense, it could only fit in arenas. It’s a $20 million arena spectacle of unprecedented size and quality, which captivates young and old alike. With Walking with Dinosaurs, we really believe we have created a new genre in entertainment and we hope to continue to bring new product to arenas for years to come ”

Walking With Dinosaurs WALKING WITH DINOSAURS – The Live Experience has sold out performances and broken records in arenas all over the America – generating more than $50 million in ticket sales to date. It has been seen on "The Today Show," Good Morning America," "Live with Regis and Kelly," and has been written about in Newsweek, The New York Times, the Christian Science Monitor and the Wall Street Journal. It was the subject of a Discovery Channel Really Big Things episode and a video clue category on Jeopardy.

The production has won the 2007 THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Touring Event. The THEAs recognize excellence in the creation of compelling educational, historical, and entertainment projects.

Artistic Director William May developed the creative vision of the show based on an original idea by entrepreneur Bruce Mactaggart to create an arena version of the Walking with Dinosaurs television series.

A talented and experienced team of creative artists came together to produce WALKING WITH DINOSAURS – The Live Experience. The show is directed by Scott Faris, a Broadway veteran who has worked side by side with Harold Prince, Trevor Nunn, Michael Blakemore, Gene Saks, John Caird, Tommy Tune and Jerry Zaks. The creatures are designed and built by Sonny Tilders; the set and projected image design are by Peter England; the show’s lighting is by John Rayment, our score was composed by James Brett; and Warner Brown wrote the script.

Walking With Dinosaurs Tim Haines, creator and producer of the original BBC series, which was seen by a worldwide audience of 700 million, serves as Project Consultant to WALKING WITH DINOSAURS – The Live Experience. The series won six Emmy and three BAFTA Awards.

Ten species are represented from the entire 200 million year reign of the dinosaurs. The show includes the Tyrannosaurus Rex, the terror of the ancient terrain, as well as the Plateosaurus and Liliensternus from the Triassic period, the Stegosaurus and Allosaurus from the Jurassic period and Torosaurus and Utahraptor from the awesome Cretaceous. The largest of them, the Brachiosaurus is 36 feet tall, and 56 feet from nose to tail. It took a team of 50 – including engineers, fabricators, skin makers, artists and painters, and animatronic experts – a year to build the original production.

Walking With Dinosaurs The show depicts the dinosaurs’ evolution, complete with the climatic and tectonic changes that took place, which led to the demise of many species. With almost cinematic realism, WALKING WITH DINOSAURS has scenes of the interactions between dinosaurs, and the audience sees how carnivorous dinosaurs evolved to walk on two legs, and how the herbivores fended off their more agile predators.

The history of the world is played out with the splitting of the earth’s continents, and the transition from the arid desert of the Triassic period is given over to the lush green prairies and forces of the later Jurassic. Oceans form, volcanoes erupt, a forest catches fire -- all leading to the impact of the massive comet, which struck the earth, and forced the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Variety said, “The dinosaurs are stunning, life-size and faultlessly nimble. In act one, the beasts parade into the arena gnashing and cavorting as a safari-suited paleontologist describes their attributes … in the second half, the action cranks up, culminating in a spectacular clash as a T-Rex mom defends her baby from predators. Sonny Tilders' triumphant creature design ensures ‘Walking With Dinosaurs’ is a truly spectacular spectacular. It is everything a dino-phile could want.”

The New York Times said that in this show dinosaurs make "a thundering comeback after 65 million years."

Walking With Dinosaurs Gloria Goodale of the Christian Science Monitor said, “When the dinosaurs start pouring out onto the stage, if you don’t have to stifle the natural flight response of any living breathing being, then it’s your pulse that needs checking.”

Newsweek called the show, "that rare entertainment beast that parents and kids can enjoy together."

It took 50 artists and technicians one year to build the show. The 15 dinosaurs were originally “hatched” by Tilders, the head of creature design, in a Melbourne Docklands workshop big enough to park a 747. For the North American tour, the only building large enough to house rehearsals for the dinosaurs – some as large as 36 ft tall by 56 ft long, was the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center!

Artistic Director William May is known around the globe for co-producing shows with Malcolm Cooke for the past 30 years, including The Hobbit and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. He produced Marilyn An American Fable on Broadway and co-composed and wrote the musical Always for the West End.

Walking With Dinosaurs Director Scott Faris directed Michael Crawford in EFX at MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, which at the time was the biggest stage production ever conceived, and was on the production team that created Siegfried & Roy at the Mirage Hotel. Faris has directed Chicago the Musical in 16 countries around the world in over a dozen languages. Most recently he directed Bette Midler in her new Las Vegas show, The Showgirl Must Go On at Caesars Palace.

Faris said, "We take the audience on a journey back in time and show them how the dinosaurs might have actually looked in their prime - huge, sometimes frightening, sometimes comical monsters - that fought for survival every day of their lives. Our dinosaurs move exactly like they are real -- with all the roars, snorts and excitement that go with it. The realism is mind-blowing!"

Sonny Tilders, who designed and built the creatures has been, for the past decade, one of the major creative forces of the high-tech world of animatronic puppetry for film and television. He was one of the lead animatronic engineers for Jim Henson’s Creature workshop on the Farscape series, followed by work on Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Peter Pan, Ghost Rider and The Chronicles of Narnia.

Tilders said, “Many of the technologies we are using on WALKING WITH DINOSAURS – The Live Experience are borrowed from film. The computer software and hardware we have developed is based on the systems used to control animatronic creatures in feature films.”

Walking With Dinosaurs “To make it appear that these creatures are flesh and blood weighing six, eight or even 20 tons, we use a system called ‘muscle bags,’ made from stretch mesh fabric and filled with polystyrene balls, stretched across moving points on the body. These contract and stretch in the same manner that muscle, fat, and skin does on real creatures.”

“The puppeteers use ‘voodoo rigs’ to make many of the dinosaurs move. They are miniature versions of the dinosaurs with the same joints and range of movement as their life-sized counterparts. The puppeteer manipulates the voodoo rig and these actions are interpreted by computer and transmitted by radio waves to make the hydraulic cylinders in the actual dinosaur replicate the action, with a driver hidden below the animal, helping to maneuver it around the arena.” Suited puppeteer specialists, who are inside the creatures, operate five of the smaller dinosaurs.

Warner Brown wrote the script of WALKING WITH DINOSAURS – The Live Experience. He is an accomplished writer whose works include the book of the musical Flickers on Broadway, the screenplay of Nijinsky for Regent Entertainment, the musical The Black and White Ball, which features music by Cole Porter and The Truth About Light, written with composer Jimmy Roberts. Other credits include a new version of Half A Sixpence for the West End in 2008, Garbo – The Musical with music by Jim Steinman and Michael Reed, playing in Europe, and the plays and musicals Scandal, The Biograph Girl, Six for Gold, Cinderella, Talullah for a Day and Dance for Life.

Walking With Dinosaurs The score of WALKING WITH DINOSAURS – The Live Experience is by James Brett whose work can be heard on soundtracks including 10,000 BC, Alien vs Predator, Miramax's Ella Enchanted and the forthcoming UK feature Outpost. He also helped create the groundbreaking collaboration between Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony. The album S&M has sold over 5 million copies worldwide.

The sets and projections are by the multi-award winning designer Peter England whose work has toured the world extensively. A frequent collaborator at Opera Australia, the Australian Ballet and Bangarra Dance Theatre, he also designed sections of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, three City of Sydney New Year's Eve Celebrations and in 2002 was a finalist in the international design competition for the Pentagon Memorial in Washington DC.

Jeff Dunham - Spark of Insanity comes to The Bank of Kentucky Center

Highland Heights, KY, Thursday, May 29, 2008 — With two amazon.com #1 selling DVDs, two record-setting Comedy Central specials, a sold-out national tour and You-Tube hits in the multi-millions, Jeff Dunham is a pop culture phenomenon! Dunham brings a Spark of Insanity to the new Bank of Kentucky Center at Northern Kentucky University on Friday, September 26 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $45.50 and go on sale Friday, June 6 at 10 a.m. and will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets, including select Kroger stores. Charge by phone at (513) 562-4949 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.

Dunham’s undeniable talent has transcended the art of ventriloquism and transformed it into a cutting-edge comedy experience. His latest DVD, Spark of Insanity, held the number one spot on Amazon.com for 11 days and is flying off retail shelves at a rate of 35,000 per week. Both of Dunham’s DVDs have gone multi-platinum (Arguing with Myself was released in April 2006), and Spark of Insanity continues to be one of the highest rated hour-long standup specials in Comedy Central’s history, with multiple airings every month. Since the release of Spark of Insanity in September 2007, Dunham has sold over 250,000 concert tickets, grossing in excess of $7 million in revenue, making him one of the strongest touring artists today. His overwhelming popularity and international appeal now has Canada taking note, as The Comedy Channel (Canada’s version of Comedy Central) will premiere both record-breaking specials - Arguing with Myself and Spark of Insanity - beginning this month.

Dunham of course never travels alone, and fans of all ages have fallen in love with his fast-talking and socially reckless “Suitcase Posse”. First, and probably most recognizable to TV viewers, is ‘Walter’, the elderly, outspoken and politically incorrect curmudgeon who spouts his views on the foibles of marriage, politics and anything else that needs skewering in American culture. Next is ‘Peanut’ a frenzied, loudmouthed, purple, loveable imp who Walter describes as “a Muppet on crack”. Then there’s ‘José Jalapeño’, a chili pepper who teamed up with Dunham after a pogo accident in his home country of Mexico, permanently placing him "on a STEEK!" Lowest on the I.Q. chart is ‘Bubba J’ simply white trash and trailer park, and a true diehard beer-drinking NASCAR fan.

Finally, Dunham’s latest character to join the act is ‘Achmed the Dead Terrorist’ who thankfully has failed in multiple suicidal tasks, and has allowed Dunham to throw a spitball directly in the eye of political correctness.

(Currently, this clip of Achmed and Dunham boasts over 22 million views.)

Louisville to Meet NKU in The Bank Of Kentucky Center Opener
Cardinals, Norse play men's/women's doubleheader Nov. 8 in new facility

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Rick Pitino is bringing his University of Louisville Cardinals up I-71 North this November to meet Northern Kentucky University in The Bank of Kentucky Center's first-ever men's college basketball game.

NKU president Dr. James Votruba announced Thursday night that Louisville and NKU will open The Bank of Kentucky Center's 2008-09 college basketball schedule with a men's/women's doubleheader on Nov. 8. The women's game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m., and the men will tip off at 8 p.m.

"For the past several years, those who follow NKU basketball know that our men's and women's teams have been tipping off their seasons with exhibition road games against big-time national Division I powers," Votruba told the Regents Hall crowd at halftime of the NKU/Saint Joseph's game. "We've played the likes of the UK, UC, Ohio State, Xavier and Indiana. It's always fun to face those kinds of opponents, and we've come pretty close to beating several of them. I was thinking - maybe the thing that has been missing, the thing that might help us score a victory over one of these programs, is a home court advantage.

"That's why it's my pleasure to announce that in about nine months - on Saturday, November 8, 2008 - we will play the grand-opening and first-ever doubleheader in the Bank of Kentucky Center against none other than the University of Louisville Cardinals."

Louisville, a perennial NCAA Division I powerhouse and a member of the Big East Conference, has never played Division II NKU in men's basketball. The Norse, coached by Dave Bezold, compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division.

NKU has played its basketball games in Regents Hall since the 1972-73 season, but both Norse teams will move into their new, state-of-the-art facility in 2008-09. The Bank of Kentucky Center will have a capacity of 9,400 for basketball.

Former NKU basketball player Jeff Walz, a graduate of Highlands High School, coaches the Louisville women's team. Walz will go up against NKU head coach Nancy Winstel, who has more than 500 career victories and ranks in the all-time top 10 for victories in NCAA Division II history.
