Conversion Staff

Job Title: Conversion Staff
Department: Operations
Reports To: Conversion Manger
FLSA Status: Part-Time

Major Responsibilities:

  • Event Set-Up:
    Physical labor including but not limited to stage, riser, and stair construction and deconstruction for major concerts, assembly and disassembly of the basketball floor, table and chair setup for major and minor events.
  • Event Staffing:
    Work under supervision of SMG full time operations to ensure building clients have a superior experience. This may include physical labor in the moving of chairs, tables, furniture, pipe, drape and other tasks as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    Responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of all conversion equipment. This may include but not limited to stage, risers and basketball floor.

Become part of the exciting world of entertainment and Sports at the Bank of Kentucky Center located on the campus of Northern Kentucky University. These positions will work to ensure event setup for major and minor events which include concerts, family shows, basketball games, banquets, private events, etc.

Typical operations will take place in the evening and run into the middle of the night.

All positions offer a competitive hourly wage.

Event Staff

Job Title:              Event Staff (Ushers, Ticket Takers, Guest Services)
Department:         Event Services                  
Reports To:          Guest Services Supervisors           
FLSA Status:        Part Time/Non-Exempt

Summary:
The employees in these roles will be responsible for greeting all customers and assisting them throughout the Bank of Kentucky Center and ensures customers to the facility have an enjoyable experience at every event.

Ticket Taker responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greeting all patrons to the facility.
  • Ensure that all guests have an admission ticket as they enter.
  • Ensure that your area of responsibility is clean and presentable prior to doors opening.
  • Ability to use a ticket scanner.
  • Keep guests moving at all times.
  • Providing the guest with the best possible service – listen to all issues, concerns and requests for assistance.
  • Deny entrance to guests attempting to enter the facility without proper credentials or ticket.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Arena entrance policies and procedures.

Usher responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure all patrons have ticket stubs for the section they are sitting in.
  • Check the date, section, row and seat numbers of tickets to ensure that each guest is in the correct section of the arena.
  • Check your assigned area to ensure that prohibited items are not in the arena and always look for potential issues.
  • Assist security in keeping all walkway, aisles and vomitories clear.
  • Provide guests with general directions to their ticketed seat.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Arena entrance policies and procedures.
  • Always look for spills or hazardous conditions and call for assistance if this arises.
  • Providing the guest with the best possible service – listen to all issues, concerns and requests for assistance.

All Event Staff employees must be able to work evenings and weekends on an event by event basis.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Customer service experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Multiple hours of standing and/or walking
  • Ability to climb stairs regularly
  • Proven guest services and/or customer service experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some computer knowledge.
